What causes cancer?

Cancer is the result of the uncontrolled growth of the body's cells. Normally, cells divide in a regulated manner, but when this process is disrupted, abnormal cells begin to grow and form tumors. In some cases, these cells can spread to other parts of the body, a condition known as malignant cancer.
Firstly, genetic changes or mutations are a major cause of cancer. In some cases, individuals may be born with genetic defects, while in other cases, mutations can occur due to environmental factors.
Secondly, an unhealthy lifestyle is another major cause of cancer. Smoking, alcohol consumption, intake of processed foods, irregular eating habits, and lack of physical activity increase the risk of developing cancer.
Thirdly, environmental factors such as polluted air, chemical substances, ultraviolet (UV) rays, and radioactive radiation play a significant role in the development of cancer.
Fourthly, certain viruses can be responsible for causing cancer, such as Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and Hepatitis B and C viruses.
Fifthly, prolonged mental stress and lack of sleep weaken the body’s immune system and increase the risk of cancer.
Therefore, cancer can be prevented by following a healthy lifestyle, maintaining a balanced diet, and undergoing regular health check-ups.
