Prof. Dr. Hasib Rahman

Prof. Dr. Hasib Rahman completed his MBBS from Dhaka Medical College in 2000. Then he passed FCPS (Surgery) in 2006 and completed his Masters in Plastic Surgery in 2010. He was awarded the gold medal from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons for his outstanding performance of FCPS (Surgery) in 2006. In 2011, he underwent Fellowship training on Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, Chennai.
He is in government service and has served in medical colleges and government hospitals at different levels. Currently he is serving as a Professor of Plastic Surgery in National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
He is a pioneer microsurgeon of Bangladesh and has popularized replantation and complex trauma and cancer reconstruction, especially reconstruction of oral cancers and limb reconstruction after trauma. He is vastly experienced in complex wound cover of limbs and reconstruction following excision of cancers in various parts of the body.
He is highly experienced in the management of congenital hand anomalies, cleft lip and palate surgeries. He has been involved with the USA-based Smile Train organization from 2012 onwards and has provided more than 1000 surgeries for cleft patients.
He has a special interest in hand surgery, tendon and nerve reconstruction, hand injuries, nerve transfer and tendon transfer and congenital hand anomalies.
Dr. Hasib regularly performs breast surgeries like breast reconstruction following mastectomy and aesthetic breast surgeries like mastopexy, breast reduction, breast augmentation, and gynecomastia.
He also performs other aesthetic surgeries like abdominoplasty, liposuction, rhinoplasty, facelifts, blepharoplasty, etc.
He regularly operates on skin cancers in different parts of the body.
He performs surgeries for burns and burn-related deformities, nerve injuries, tendon injuries, bedsores, and gynecomastia. He is vastly experienced in both acute burn management and management of post-burn contractures.
