Prof. Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman completed MBBS degree followed by FCPS degree in General Surgery and later he completed his MS degree from BSMMU in Neurosurgery.
On a long academic career Prof. Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman joined as an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery in Chittagong Medical College & Hospital and later was promoted to Professor and Head in the same department.
Afterwards, he was posted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital and Dhaka Medical College as a Professor and Head of the Department of Neurosurgery.
During his long career he has performed more than 7000 surgeries on brain tumors, spine tumors and spine surgery (Cervical and Lumbar). Besides this, he has performed numerous nerve operations.
Dr. Zillur Rahman specializes in Pediatric Brain and Hydrocephalus operations and other pediatric operations.
He has successfully performed awake brain tumor operation at Apollo Hospital Dhaka.
Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman attended his fellowship training in Neurosurgery organized by Singapore Gleneagles Hospital & Mount Elizabeth Hospital in 2004.
He had advanced training in neurosurgery at Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, USA, in 2006.
In 2009 he got advanced training from MC Master University, Hamilton, Canada.
