Evercare Hospital Dhaka Organized Rally and Patient Forum on World Radiotherapy Awareness Day

On the occasion of World Radiotherapy Awareness Day, the Cancer Care Centre of Evercare Hospital Dhaka organized a rally and a patient forum aimed at raising awareness about the essential role of radiotherapy in cancer treatment, improving access to treatment, and dispelling common misconceptions surrounding radiation therapy.

The event was attended by Evercare Hospital Dhaka’s senior officials, oncologists, doctors across different specialties, other hospital staff and patients. The discussion focused on advancements in radiotherapy, patient care, and addressing misconceptions surrounding radiation treatment, while emphasizing the importance of increasing public awareness about the role of radiotherapy in cancer care. Earlier, a special rally was organized with the participation of Evercare officials, doctors, nurses, guests and members of the local community.

In this regard, Dr. Biswajit Bhattacharjee, Senior Consultant & Coordinator, Radiation Oncology Department, said, “Although many people still have doubts and misconceptions about radiotherapy, these concerns can be addressed through simple and reliable information. At the same time, it is important to ensure the planned and controlled application of modern radiotherapy. I believe this will help dispel misconceptions and build greater confidence in this treatment modality.”

Dr. Arman Reza Chowdhury, Senior Consultant, Radiation Oncology Department, said, “Advancements in radiotherapy have made cancer treatment more precise and effective today. However, its benefits can only be fully realized when people are aware of its role and importance and feel confident in seeking the treatment they need. I hope this life-saving treatment modality will soon be made increasingly accessible to patients across the country for their benefit.”
