•Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hasan Meah graduated with an MBBS degree from Chittagong Medical College in 1988 and pursued advanced specialization, earning an MS in Urology from Chittagong Medical College, University of Chittagong. He further honed his expertise through a Fellowship in Urology at Ryukyu University, Okinawa, Japan.
•Dr. Hasan specializes in minimally invasive urological surgeries, including Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP), as well as open and laparoscopic procedures for urological cancers, congenital anomalies, and complex conditions. His proficiency extends to demographic research on urolithiasis and innovative surgical techniques, such as the Desarda hernia repair and supine PCNL for staghorn stones.
•With over 35 years of clinical and academic experience, Dr. Hasan has held prominent roles at leading institutions, including Chittagong Medical College Hospital, the University of Science & Technology Chittagong (USTC) and Chattogram International Medical College, where he currently serves as Professor and Head of Urology. His prior contributions include training medical professionals, leading departments, and advancing urological education.
•Dr. Hasan is recognized for his extensive hands-on experience in managing rare urological disorders and chronic complications, such as neurogenic bladder conditions arising from spinal trauma or stroke. He has authored 16+ peer-reviewed publications focusing on urinary stone composition, antibiotic sensitivity patterns, and surgical outcomes, reflecting his commitment to evidence-based practice.
•A strong advocate for minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Hasan integrates innovation into patient care, ensuring tailored solutions for complex cases. His dedication to advancing urology in Bangladesh is further underscored by his roles as a life member of the American Urological Association (AUA), the Bangladesh Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) and the Society of Surgeons of Bangladesh (SOSB), as well as his participation in international conferences across Japan, India, Indonesia, and the UAE.
