NCV Test: Diagnosing Nerve Problems
A Nerve Conduction Study, or NCV for short, is a medical test that provides detailed information about our nerves. Through this test, doctors can find the causes of various nerve-related problems such as numbness, tingling, and weakness in the hands and feet.
Why is an NCV Test Done?
Diagnosing Nerve Disorders: To diagnose nerve conditions like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Sciatica, Diabetic Neuropathy, etc.
Assessing Nerve Injury: To determine the extent of nerve damage after an injury.

How is the NCV Test Performed?
During an NCV test, the doctor sends a small electrical signal through the nerve. The speed at which this signal travels along the nerve is measured. The patient might feel a slight discomfort or a tapping sensation during the test.
