Responsibilities & Context

The Interventional Cardiology Technician shall assist the consultants in conducting a wide range of invasive cardiac tests, under direct supervision, for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

• Prepares the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

• Assists during procedures.

• Operates X-ray and monitoring equipment.

• Maintains the Cath Lab schedule.

• Assists with patient preparation before procedures when needed.

• Consistently and appropriately performs procedure/supply setup.

• Prepares and calibrates procedural equipment as required.

• Receives and properly stocks supplies.

• Evaluates supplies, reorders, and maintains consistent stock levels.

• Maintains records of TLD badges and lead aprons.

• Manages and organizes the roster to ensure 24-hour coverage for the on-call cardiology consultant.
