Brig Gen Prof Dr. Muhammad Ali Azad

 

• Brigadier General Dr. Azad is currently serving as an Adviser Specialist and Head of the Department of ENT & Head-Neck Surgery at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Chattogram. He is also working as the Head of the Department at Army Medical College, Chattogram. He is a nationally recognized Head and Neck Cancer Surgeon in the Bangladesh Armed Forces and across the country. He obtained his MBBS degree from Sir Salimullah Medical College.

• He obtained FCPS and MCPS degrees in ENT and Head–Neck Surgery from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) and  DLO degree from the University of Dhaka.

• Moreover, he also did Certified Fellowship  training in Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, India, MD Anderson Cancer Center, USA. Royal Marsden Hospital, UK. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, USA

• He is awarded SPP (Sena Parodorshita Padak) by Honorable President of The Peoples Republic of Bangladesh for his outstanding performance in Head & Neck cancer surgery in Bangladesh Armed Forces. He got Certificate of Appreciation for outstading contribution in Head & Neck Cancer Surgery from CMH Dhaka and CMH Chattogram.

• Dr. Azad has also presented his scientific works in different national and international scientific conferences and workshops as  Invited Faculty Speaker, Panelist, Moderator, Live Surgery Demonstrator.  He has plenty of  official publications in national and international scientific journals.

• He has keen interest in the field of  Laryngeal Cancer Surgery, Thyroid and Parathyroid surgery, Parotid Tumour Surgery, Neck Dissection. Oral Cancer and Tongue Cancer Surgery and recontruction, sinonasal Cancer Surgery, Parapharyngeal Tumour and Carotid body tumour surgery. He has keen interest in recurrent and salvage Head & Neck Cancer Surgery.

• He has done more than 100 total laryngectomy with voice prosthesis insertion followed by excellent voce out come. He established a laryngectomy club in Bangladesh Armed forces. He is active founding member of Cancer Center, CMH Dhaka.
