Dr. Samir Kumar Paul

• Dr. Samir Kumar Paul obtained his MBBS degree from Chittagong Medical College in 1989. He began his specialized career in cardiology in 1996 as an Assistant Registrar at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, a role he held until 1999. He further solidified his expertise by completing his D-Card in Cardiology from Chittagong Medical College in 2004.

• His professional journey includes significant roles as a Registrar in Cardiology at Apollo Hospitals, Dhaka in 2006, and as a Junior Consultant in Cardiology at Lab Aid Cardiac Hospital, Dhaka in 2007. Dr. Paul then dedicated 16 years to the National University of Malaysia Hospital in Kuala Lumpur, serving as a Senior Registrar in Cardiology from 2008 to 2024. He initially trained with the Interventional Cardiology team for two years before leading the Non-Invasive Cardiology team as its In-Charge.

• In this leadership role, Dr. Samir gained extensive, specialized experience in advanced echocardiography, performing over 10,000 procedures including Doppler, Strain, Stress (exercise and pharmacological), Contrast, and over 2,000 Transesophageal Echocardiograms. He was also responsible for overseeing several key specialist clinics, including the Heart Failure Clinic, Hypertension Clinic, Arrhythmia Clinic, Anticoagulation (INR & DOAC) Clinic, and the General Cardiology Clinic.

• Dr. Samir is a member of the National Heart Association of Malaysia and is committed to continuous learning, having attended numerous international conferences and courses throughout his career.
