Evercare Hospital Chattogram Introduces Bone Marrow Transplant & Hematology Centre

Evercare Hospital Chattogram has introduced a specialized centre dedicated to the treatment of blood disorders and bone marrow transplantation, making advanced hematology and stem cell transplant services more accessible to patients in Chattogram and surrounding regions. Named the Centre of Excellence for Hematology & Bone Marrow Transplant, the centre will provide specialized treatment for a range of blood disorders, including blood cancers, thalassemia, aplastic anemia and other hematological conditions.

According to the hospital authorities, the centre will offer comprehensive hematology and stem cell-related care, including regular consultations, daily telemedicine services and chemotherapy day-care facilities.

Dr. Abu Jafar Mohammed Saleh, Senior Consultant and Coordinator, Hematology & Stem Cell Transplant, Evercare Hospital Dhaka, will provide specialized consultations at the centre in Chattogram. He will see patients on the last Tuesday of every month.

Dr. Abu Jafar Mohammed Saleh brings extensive experience in hematology and stem cell transplantation. He previously worked for nine years as an Assistant Consultant in the Adult Hematology and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) Department at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Saudi Arabia. During his career, he has gained extensive experience in the management of both benign and malignant hematological disorders and has been involved in more than 800 allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplant procedures.

Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Abu Jafar Mohammed Saleh said, “The initiative to establish a specialized centre for the treatment of blood disorders and bone marrow transplantation is highly commendable. It will provide patients in Chattogram with greater access to specialized hematology and stem cell transplant services without having to travel to Dhaka or abroad. It is an honour for me to have the opportunity to serve patients in Chattogram.” Blood cancers and other serious hematological conditions, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, aplastic anemia and thalassemia, can be life-threatening. However, depending on the condition and individual patient factors, many patients can achieve long-term disease control or recovery with appropriate treatment. For selected patients, bone marrow or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation can be an important treatment option. With the introduction of the Centre of Excellence for Hematology & Bone Marrow Transplant, Evercare Hospital Chattogram aims to expand access to specialized hematology care and advanced stem cell transplantation services for patients in Chattogram and beyond.
