Cancer Survivor Month: Evercare Hospital Chattogram Launches Cancer Survivor Forum
Evercare Hospital Chattogram has launched a Cancer Survivor Forum as part of Cancer Survivor Month, observed globally every June. The initiative aims to increase public awareness about cancer, highlight the importance of early diagnosis and encourage people to seek timely medical advice for unusual or persistent health changes.
The forum brought together cancer survivors, medical professionals and guests to discuss cancer awareness, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. Cancer survivors also shared their personal experiences and journeys of overcoming the challenges associated with cancer.
The event was attended by Safia Ghazi Rahman, Founder and Chairman of Sunshine Education; Dr. Fazle Akbar, General Manager, Evercare Hospital Chattogram; Dr. Mohammad Ali Asgar, Senior Consultant, Oncology; and Dr. Sazzad Mohammad Yusuf, Senior Consultant, Oncology, among others.
The speakers emphasized the importance of awareness, regular health check-ups, early diagnosis and appropriate screening. The discussion also highlighted diagnostic services such as PSA testing, transrectal ultrasonography, mammography, Pap smear and histopathology, depending on individual risk factors and clinical requirements.
