[Chattogram, 30th October 2025] Evercare Hospital Chattogram, the port city’s largest hospital, organized an engaging Patient Forum and Awareness Rally as part of its initiative to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month aiming to empower women with knowledge about early detection, treatment, and overall breast health.

 

At the event, from the Department of Medical & Radiation Oncology, Prof. Dr. Sajjad Mohammad Yusuff, Visiting Senior Consultant; Dr. Tanvir Ahmed, Consultant & Coordinator, Radiotherapy Service; Dr. Hasnina Akter, Consultant; and Dr. Nayan Bhowmik, Attending Consultant, attended the program. Also, Mrs. Shafia Gazi, Founder & Chairman of Sunshine Education, and Mr. Samir Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Evercare Hospital Chattogram, were present along with hospital senior consultants, nurses, patients, and staff.

 

The program commenced with a welcome Address by Mr. Samir Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Evercare Hospital Chattogram, who emphasized the hospital’s commitment to promoting awareness and supporting patients and their families through comprehensive care. He said, “Through initiatives like this forum and awareness rally, we aim to inspire early detection, provide support to patients and their families.”

 

Mrs. Shafia Gazi, Founder & Chairman of Sunshine Education, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of community involvement in fostering awareness. She said, “When we come together to educate, support, and uplift one another, we empower women to take charge of their health and make informed choices that can save lives.”

 

 

Prof. Dr. Sajjad Mohammad Yusuff, Visiting Senior Consultant, Medical & Radiation Oncology, addressed that, “By combining modern diagnostic techniques with personalized care, we can significantly improve outcomes and give patients the best chance for a healthy future”.

 

Following this, Dr. Tanvir Ahmed, Consultant & Coordinator, Radiotherapy Service, Medical & Radiation Oncology, shared insights into treatment options and the latest advancements in radiotherapy for breast cancer patients. She added, “Staying informed about the latest advancements ensures that each patient receives care tailored to their unique needs.”

 

Dr. Hasnina Akter, Consultant, Medical & Radiation Oncology, also spoke on holistic patient care and said that, “it’s about supporting patients emotionally, physically, and mentally throughout their journey.”

 

The forum included a Happy Patient Stories segment, celebrating survivors and inspiring patients through real-life journeys of courage and resilience. An interactive Q&A session allowed attendees to directly engage with the experts, fostering a better understanding of breast health and treatment options.

 

The event concluded with Closing Remarks, summarizing the key messages of the forum. The event was followed by a Breast Cancer Awareness Rally, where participants carried pink gas balloons, released pigeons, waved banners, and wore pink ribbons and Breast Cancer Awareness Month caps. The colorful and energetic procession through the hospital premises created a vibrant and hopeful atmosphere, symbolizing solidarity, awareness, and the collective commitment to supporting those affected by breast cancer.
