Evercare Hospital Chattogram Marks World Heart Day 2025

 [Chattogram, 29 September 2025]Evercare Hospital Chattogram, the port city’s largest healthcare facility, marked World Heart Day 2025 with a patient forum, awareness talks, and a cycle rally. Centered on the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat”, the initiative highlighted the importance of every heartbeat, raising awareness on cardiovascular disease (CVD) and promoting equitable access to heart care.

By August 2025, Evercare Hospital Chattogram’s Cath Lab had successfully completed 4,600 procedures, including 2,920 Coronary Angiograms (CAG) and 1,358 Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasties (PTCA). The lab also offers advanced cardiac technologies such as IVUS, Angioplasty, TPM, FFR, and CRT-D, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to cutting-edge cardiac care.

The program brought together some of the country’s renowned cardiac specialists including Prof. Dr Shaikh Md Hasan Mamun, Senior Consultant & Coordinator, Dr. Zahiruddin Mahmud Illius, Senior Consultant, Dr. Md Tarik Bin Abdur Rashid, Senior Consultant, Dr. Samir Kumar Paul, Attending Consultant, Dr. Rakib Chowdhury, Attending Consultant, from Cardiology; Dr. Asif Ahmed Bin Moin, Senior Consultant, Dr. Md Monzur Hossain, Attending Consultant, from the Department of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery. Samir Singh, COO, and    Dr. Hassan Shahriar Kabir, Director, Medical Service, was also present.

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Dr. Shaikh Md Hasan Mamun, Senior Consultant & Coordinator, Cardiology, emphasized, “Most heart diseases can be prevented if we take the right steps early by controlling diabetes, avoiding tobacco, eating healthy, and staying active. Let’s make small lifestyle changes today for a healthier tomorrow.”

Dr. Zahiruddin Mahmud Illius, Senior Consultant, Cardiology, said that, “In Bangladesh, cardiovascular diseases remain a major health challenge, yet most cases are preventable. Adopting healthy habits such as staying physically active, eating a nutritious diet, and undergoing regular health screenings can significantly reduce the risk and safeguard heart health. Our goal is to ensure timely access to treatment and to encourage people not to ignore even the smallest symptoms.”

Dr. Md Tarik Bin Abdur Rashid, Senior Consultant, Cardiology,added that, “Every heartbeat is precious, and protecting it should be a priority not only for ourselves but also for our families and communities. Together, through awareness and action, we can build a future where heart health is accessible to all and lives are no longer cut short by preventable diseases.”

Dr. Asif Ahmed Bin Moin, Senior Consultant, Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery,said,” Every heartbeat matters. While procedures like angioplasty help many patients, staying vigilant and acting early can prevent complications and safeguard long-term heart health."

In the cycle rally, it had some enthusiastic participation which was designed to promote the role of physical activity in heart health, attracting participants of all ages, who took to the streets in a show of solidarity for the cause.
