Evercare Hospital Chattogram Observes World Stroke Day 2025
[Chattogram, 29 October 2025]Evercare Hospital Chattogram, the port city’s largest private hospital, organized an Awareness Health Talk and Patient Forum recently to mark World Stroke Day 2025, aiming to raise public awareness about stroke prevention, timely intervention, and rehabilitation. The event concluded with a rally.
At the event, from the Department of Neurosurgery, Dr. Md. Anisul Islam Khan, Senior Consultant & Coordinator; Dr. Aminur Rahman (Azad), Senior Consultant; and Dr. Md. Nasir Uddin, Attending Consultant; attended the program and from the Department of Neurology Dr. Mohammad Najim Uddin, Senior Consultant; Dr. Somen Chowdhury, Consultant; also, Mr. Samir Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Evercare Hospital Chattogram, was present along with senior consultants, nurses, patients and hospital staff.
The program began with a welcome address from Dr. Md. Anisul Islam Khan, Senior Consultant & Coordinator, Neurosurgery. He emphasized, “Early recognition of symptoms and immediate medical attention can make the difference between full recovery and lifelong disability.”
Following him, Dr. Mohammad Najim Uddin, Senior Consultant, Neurology, delivered insightful speeches highlighting the growing burden of stroke. He said, “Every minute counts, and knowing the warning signs can significantly improve recovery outcomes."
Dr. Somen Chowdhury, Consultant, Neurology, said, "Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability in Bangladesh. Raising awareness and educating communities about early signs can save countless lives."
Dr. Aminur Rahman (Azad), Senior Consultant, Neurosurgery,also shared his expert perspective on modern approaches to stroke management and the importance of post-stroke rehabilitation. He stated, "Modern stroke management goes beyond immediate treatment; comprehensive post-stroke rehabilitation is essential to help patients regain independence and improve quality of life."
An overview of the Neuroscience Centre was presented by Dr. Md. Nasir Uddin, Attending Consultant, Neurosurgery, who showcased the hospital’s advanced neuro-diagnostic and surgical capabilities. He exclaimed, "Our Neuroscience Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to provide precise diagnosis and advanced surgical care, ensuring the best outcomes for every patient."
The session featured Patient Stories where recovered stroke patients shared their inspiring journeys, underscoring the value of timely medical intervention and comprehensive care. The event concluded with a Q&A session and closing remarks by Mr. Samir Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Evercare Hospital Chattogram. He said, "At Evercare Hospital Chattogram, we are dedicated to raising awareness about stroke, providing timely care, and ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of neurological treatment."
The program ended with a rally from the hospital’s Emergency Area, joined by doctors, nurses, staff, patients, and attendants to reinforce the importance of immediate medical response during a stroke emergency.
