Evercare Hospitals Organizes Free Pediatric Cardiac Camp in Cox’s Bazar
The Pediatric Cardiology Departments of Evercare Hospitals Dhaka and Chattogram organized a free medical camp in Cox’s Bazar to provide specialized healthcare services for children with congenital heart disease. The three-day medical camp began on Tuesday, May 21, and continued through Thursday, May 23, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Union Hospital, located on Hospital Road in Cox’s Bazar.

Dr. Tahera Nazrin, Founder and Coordinator of the Pediatric Cardiology Department at Evercare Hospitals Bangladesh, provided consultations and specialized care during the camp. Children underwent outpatient evaluation and echocardiography to support accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning. Nurul Huda, Managing Director of Union Hospital, Cox’s Bazar, was also present at the medical camp.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Tahera Nazrin said that the prevalence of congenital heart disease among children remains a significant concern in Bangladesh, with disadvantaged children often facing greater barriers to timely diagnosis and treatment. Limited access to quality healthcare, lack of awareness about pediatric heart disease, financial constraints, and other socioeconomic challenges can prevent children from receiving appropriate cardiac care.

She further stated that the Pediatric Cardiology Department of Evercare Hospitals provides free cardiac devices, including devices for selected cases of Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), as well as balloon-based interventions for selected conditions such as pulmonary stenosis, aortic stenosis, and coarctation of the aorta for disadvantaged children. The department also offers healthcare packages at reduced costs to help improve access to specialized pediatric cardiac care.

Dr. Tahera Nazrin called upon responsible stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to support initiatives aimed at improving access to timely diagnosis and treatment for children with congenital heart disease.

The initiative reflects Evercare Hospitals’ continued commitment to expanding access to specialized pediatric cardiac care and supporting children and families who face financial and geographic barriers to treatment.
