Critically Ill Infant Boy Recovers After PICU Treatment

The infant son of Mr. Zainal Abedin, a resident of Cox's Bazar and expatriate living in Dubai, initially developed symptoms of a cold and was admitted to a local hospital. As his condition required advanced medical care, he was later referred to Chattogram. After three days of treatment at another hospital, the child's condition continued to deteriorate. He was subsequently admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Evercare Hospital Chattogram.Treatment was initiated under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Kabir, Attending Consultant, Neonatology & Pediatrics. Following necessary investigations, the child was diagnosed with meningoencephalitis, bronchopneumonia and Type 2 respiratory failure.As his condition was critical, he was placed on life support for the first five days and received intensive care and advanced medical treatment.
