Shaafi Raaisul Mohammad is a Consultant Psychiatrist.
He has obtained MBBS from Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital and Medical College under the University of Chittagong.
He has completed MD in Psychiatry from National Institute of Mental Health and Hospital (NIMH&H) under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University(BSMMU).
He started his career as a lecturer in Physiology at Southern Medical College and Hospital in the year of 2014.
Currently he is working as an Assistant Professor in the department of Psychiatry at Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital and Medical College.
Shaafi has attended various National and international conferences and training programs related to mental health and medical research.
He has his research publications in various medical journals and has presented his papers in different international conferences.
He participated as a research psychiatrist in different national surveys (national mental health survey, national mental health comorbidity survey etc.).
He is an expert in applying psychotherapy which acts as an important and significant treatment module in mental health in addition with medications.
He has efficiency in applying different mental health related scales to diagnose and classify various mental illnesses as well as mental health related issues.
In the domain of Psychiatry he efficiently deals and manages various psychiatric disorders like depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic illnesses (schizophrenia , delusional disorder etc.)bipolar disorders, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, personality disorders, conduct disorders, somatic symptom and related disorders, psychosexual disorders, drug addiction, eating disorders, sleep wake disorders, neurocognitive disorders etc.
In Child and Adolescent psychiatry he deals with Neurodevelopmental disorders [ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, communication disorders etc.] by maintaining collaboration with multiple disciplines.
Shaafi is the member of Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrist (BAP) and Bangladesh Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (BACAMH).
